The restoration and conservation of antique and valuable furniture

Call me the woodworker

Simple name, clear concept, complex work. In his shop rich in memorabilia Maurizio Pintus approaches restoration and preservation every time with the lively curiosity of a child and constant passion. Anything one in wood fascinates him: modern furniture or antique art objects. His activities include, precisely, the restoration, preservation, consolidation and long-lasting anti-woodworm treatment. "Ingredients" - that is the secret weapon of this craftsman - are always top quality and precious: natural resins, shellac or animal glues; because if you do not have a good foundation then you can not do anything good. Pintus, at least, thinks so. Because the woodworker has many years of apprenticeship and experience, during which he has been able to perfect his specialties.

To name a few: the polishing according to ancient tradition, the restoration of furniture with metal inlay and restoration of the missing parts and those with patch and inlaid marquetry, the restoration of gilded and lacquered objects such as picture frames, candlesticks, lamps as well as their realization on request. These techniques are added, then the carving, also on commission, restoration of painted ceilings and the restoration of wall paintings. Everything is customizable and Maurizio Pintus is available for consulting and working on a personal basis. The restorer works to pass on his knowledge, with the hope that will not be lost and that they will be a new wealth for the future. That is why Maurizio teaches as a woodworker and hosts in his laboratory students and trainees. An initiative which returns luster and longevity to the long tradition that this sector offers and that is likely, unfortunately, forgot to come.
