Lorenzo Cassio was for a long time Manager of the Vatican Mosaic Studio in the first half of the nineteenth century, his son Fabrizio Cassio opened his own workshop in the centre of Rome in 1945, since then he created mosaics for churches, cemeteries, fountains, swimming pools, museums, private and public building all around the world, restored archaeological sites and monuments, such as the famous site in Pompei, which is popular everywhere in the world, the amazing Baths of Caracalla, which the emperor Caracalla ordered to build on the Piccolo Aventino in the period between 212 and 216 a.D., the Sacred Area at the Roman National Museum, Villa Torlonia and the Roman Aquarium.

The wide range of techniques used prove his amazing mastery of the mosaic art: cosmatesque, Venetian marble chip, large marble chip, filament mosaics, micromosaics, marquetry. Besides the long working experience, reliability in the use of traditional methods, a fast production and a broad knowledge of the most advanced techniques are also guaranteed.
Studio Cassio has produced more than 300 mosaic artworks in Italy and abroad and has cooperated with contemporary artists such as Cambellotti, Missori, Quaroni, Gaudenzi, Grottini and Selva, lastly the partnership with Giovanni Hajnal.
The works of Arte Sacra (Sacred Art) are the Studio’s most relevant works.
Important and beautiful artworks can be admired in many cities, such as Rome, Cracow, Benevento, Bassano Romano, Hamm, Luxembourg, New York, Manila and many others.
The Studio Cassio provides also highly professional training courses, which are attended by students from international colleges, universities, academies and are selected by the most important tour operators.
