Explora, the Children's Museum of Rome, launches the Call for Artists - Children's Rights to select 3 works that represent one of the 3 rights of childhood, such as expression, education and play:

  • Art. 13: You have the right to learn and express yourself by means of words, writing of art and so on, unless these activities do not damage the rights of others;
  • Art. 28: You have the right to receive an education. You must receive a primary education, which must be free. You must also be able to go to secondary school;
  • Art. 31: You have the right to play (taken from the rights of children in simple words).

The call is addressed to all letterpress printing enthusiasts, students, professionals, graphic designers or illustrators who have reached 18 years of age at the time of expiry (January 20, 2019), residing in one of the member states the European Union (including the United Kingdom) or the EEA (Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway). Single or group participation is allowed. Priority will be given to proposals received from people who have not reached the age of 30 at the time of expiry. In addition, the works will have to be realized with mixed media technique, inserting in the composition elements made with traditional manual printing techniques (typographic printing with movable characters, relief printing such as linoleography and woodcut and chalcographic printing as engraving on copper or zinc plate) and elements digital graphics elaborated on the computer.

The winning artists will be invited to the inauguration of the exhibition on February 22, 2019 (travel expenses will be reimbursed, accommodation and accommodation will be charged to the SCS Onlus Children's Museum). The winning works will be exhibited in the hall of the museum throughout 2019. An annual subscription to the Museum is also included in the Carta Amici formula, valid for one child and one accompanying adult.

Deadlines and methods of participation
Participation is free. Each person / group can send a maximum of 3 proposals, one for each right. Participants must send their papers using the appropriate online form by 20 January 2019 at 12.00.
