400,000 visitors; 400 guests; 150 volunteers. These are the numbers of the last edition of Caffeina Festival, which this year starts again - from June 23 to July 2 - celebrating its 10th edition. The beautiful historic center of Viterbo has been animated with the energy and colors of Caffeina, a cultural and artistic event open to differences and exchanges, made up of thematic meetings such as justice and lawfulness, words and music, great national and international narrative.
Dozens of outdoor stages are been set up in courtyards, squares, cloisters and historic buildings of Viterbo and will become an arena to host performative arts. Everything has been arranged and organized by the 150 volunteers - young and old people, together with the Caffeina Foundation team - that make possible this event that’s an inspiration on every season. The Festival promotes culture in all its forms, by creating the opportunity for a direct meeting with authors, journalists, philosophers, actors, musicians and national and international artists.
Roberto Saviano will open this edition in an one man show of words and images devoted to his latest book 'La paranza dei bambini', while the star of the closing evening, July 2, will be Nicola Piovani who will stage 'La musica è pericolosa', a journey in which the story of the paths that led him to work with celebrities such as Fabrizio De André, Federico Fellini and Luigi Magni alternate with the performance of unpublished, well-known or rearranged pieces. There will also be exhibitions of art cinema, puppet theater for children, jazz and gipsy concerts, street artists who will be hosted in the historical places - such as Piazza San Lorenzo - and other places.
