Born from the passion and skills of two young experts and artists, Bologninicosta is a performing arts production and a social and artistic research project. Let’s know the founders better: Dario Costa, composer and performer, is a social researcher, with a degree in Sociology and Communication Psychology; Sofia Bolognini, playwright and director, has a degree in Philosophy.

Starting with its founders, the artistic group Bologninicosta, is distinguished by being an alliance of young (under 30) professionals with heterogeneous skills, not just theatrical ones, but also as university researchers and graduates, who collaborate with young adults who practice the most various forms of art (dance, acting, music etc.): «we choose collaborators starting from needs; if we want to carry out a study we think about which technical skills we need and then we contact those who have the best of those skills», they say.

«Dario’s studies could provide a great contribution to the work, and on the other hand philosophy naturally provided interpretation tools of the reality that bring fact closer to the aesthetic event, softening the most austere parts of a scientific approach to enhance the organic dialogue between the subjects and the theatrical work intended as a process».

The natural evolution of the meeting between these 2 creative people was the union for social research in the field, via collecting data and interviews on central matters for our times, and the artistic practice. Shows, live performances, audio-visual installations were all born from this close relationship which Bolognini and Costa have taken to many Italian cities, not just in Lazio.

One of the most impactful shows was certainly RomeoeGiulio, the first show focused on the subject of homophobia, winner of the Best Show and Best Director award at the International Theatre Festival “Faces Without Masks” in Skopje, in Macedonia.

The story has been written by Giorgio Ghiotti, writer.
