THE ASSOCIATION REGIS

The Cultural Association R.E.G.I.S was founded on the 14th of April 2009, in the district of Garbatella, but it is active on the whole national territory. Its purpose is to promote and share
culture. 70% of the operational core of the Association is currently represented by young people under the age of 35. R.E.G.I.S. - Events Realization, Management and Creation of Shows - promotes various types of artistic and cultural events: music, theatre, visual arts, architecture, audio-visual, poetry, publishing projects. The Association is headed by Laura Monaco, artist, actress, writer, singer and architect.

Since September 2014, the Cultural Association R.E.G.I.S. has managed the L'Aura Theatre, a 99- seat theatre that is located in the Roma Viale Marconi area (www.teatrolaura.org). The realization of the theatre itself is the result of the work of the president of the Association who oversaw the design and construction. The L’Aura theatre presents a rich cultural offer for both adults and children as well as various cultural events. It also has a rehearsal room. The Association carries out activities outside the theatre, too; these activities include educational performances in schools, productions of shows in other theatres and acting classes. The association is implementing the project "EX AEQUO", co-funded by the Prime Minister's Office Department for Youth and for the National Civil Service and by the Lazio Region through the Annual Plan of Interventions in favour of young people-“Azione Bando delle Idee”. The project focuses on the topic of women's access to culture and does so through the production of the short film “Il Mercante”(The Merchant) and the organization of a series of lectures on "The free access to culture for women through the centuries" . Currently the association is organizing the nationwide poetry competition "My home ... My house ..." now in its seventh edition.
