Monti is the first district of Rome - indicated with RI - and its name derives by the fact that the mountains meant the area, at the time very extensive and including the hill Esquilino, the Viminale, part of the Quirinale and Celio up to boundary of the Aurelian Walls.
Nowadays it is one of the most characteristic neighbourhoods of Rome, made up of alleys and narrow streets, where traditional artisan shops, restaurants, artisan shops, fashion and design shops often dictate the style trends. In one of the most characteristic ways we find: ASHANTI®GALLERIA, a full-fledged art house.
The space is both a private art gallery and a jewels factory, created according to the eclectic taste of the owner who takes care of the selection of Goldsmiths, Designers and jewels. While snooping inside the gallery, furnished in a minimalist way, you can admire European and Asian art, the artists of ASHANTI®GALLERY | Contemporary Art are masters: Antonella Cappuccio Muccino, Andrea Lelario, Teresa Coratella, Athos Collura, Marco Petrella, Andrea Pacanowski, Laura Croce, Chiara Abbaticchio, Dariush Radpour.
The gallery is also a workshop, with the ashanti®jewels laboratory. The goldsmith Raffaele Cinzio gives life to his creations, that you can find also in the bookshops of museums in Rome and in various outlets both in Italy and abroad; both the Gallery and the jewelry workshop have been placed in the book-tourist of Japan, Soviet Union, France and Denmark.
Ashanti®jewels are jewelry made entirely by hand, unique and original pieces born from a process called "lost wax" where design, materials and craftsmanship come together to create a unique and never reproducible object equal to itself. Each jewel is supervised by the jeweler in all the different stages of processing, up to the point of having coined the term Hand Made in Monti. The the Ashanti® Jewels are certified by the province of Rome with the quality mark.
