Are you a creative and do you need to decorate or customize an object you’ve created such as a table, a sculpture, a necklace or any other support? If you're looking for an artistic laboratory to entrust your creations, there is a place in the heart of Viterbo, that is distinguished by the quality and uniqueness of the manufacturing: Artistica Laboratorio di Ceramica Studio d’Arte e Restauro. The workshop is specialized in the processing of ceramics of Viterbo and also uses the Zaffera medieval technique, which is characterized by the decoration of precious white majolica with blue color applied in relief.

Other areas of competence relate to the Etruscan painting, interior design and decoration of panels. Famous throughout the national territory, the laboratory has received several awards as ilViterbo Premia 2004, for the recovery of Zaffera technique. The laboratory is divided into two areas, an exhibition space and a store. And in addition to its own creations it also deals with those of other people. Here each artist can request to customize and decorate each item or piece of furniture forged by himself.

Wood, ceramic and stone are the materials that are processed according to the needs of each creative. And then decoration on lava stone, which is a grey volcanic stone of Viterbo and used in architecture; ancient and modern ceramic restoration, both for private individuals and public institutions; revival of paintings in Etruscan and medieval style, but also decoration of furniture panels where ancient techniques are revisited in a modern way to keep up with the times.

If you want something more current, the glazed stone seems to be the right solution. The laboratory Artistica has developed a new painting technique which allows the decoration with different styles and designs, from classic themes to abstraction and figure. If you want to learn all about decorative techniques, you can also attend courses at the laboratory.
