Art on the paths
First in line in Italy with the guidelines of the European Council, the Lazio Region allocates € 1,725,000 to support the design, development and installation of contemporary artwork along the paths of its territory. The "Art on the Paths" notice is aimed at the world of artists and practitioners of the industry, called to face the historical and spiritual values of the various itineraries to create a series of artistic productions that interact harmoniously with the surrounding, natural and urban landscape.
The Art on the Path Notice will be presented on Saturday, September 16, at 10.30 am at the MACRO Museum in via Nizza, 138 (Rome), inside the Cross the Streets exhibition. Speakers: Lidia Ravera, Councilor for Culture and Youth Policy of the Lazio Region; Miriam Cipriani, Regional Director of Culture and Youth Policies; Simone Quilici, Area of Valorisation of the Cultural Heritage of the Latium Region; Gianluca Marziani, art critic and curator.
The aim of the notice is to enhance the identity of the paths through the enrichment of the experience of walking for traditional users and attracting a growing and attentive audience to this contemporary phenomena. Another purpose of the notice is to support the contemporary art industry, with an eye to emerging artists. The main tool will be land art, which uses space, landscape and natural elements as specific materials of the work, through large-scale interventions.
