THE ART OF LIVING
" Arte di Vivere – Scuola diffusa di cultura, arti e mestieri " is a project that is born within the path of the Solidarity Center of the Prenestini Mountains, a network of companies, associations, artisans, artists and free professionals, united with a view to creating social and solidarity in a community of 140,000 people on a territory of 22 municipalities. The territory of the district is located in south-east of Rome.
The purpose of the school is to train people living in that area through a didactic approach inspired by divergent thinking and education to happiness, with particular attention to social, environmental and territorial sustainability. The goal is to give everyone the opportunity to cultivate their talents and put them at the service of the community they live in.
Since March 2017, courses offered by the School have begun, ranging from restoration to design, from carpentry to theater, from mosaic to design. Courses are, in fact, widespread in the territory included in the Prenestini Mountains; For example, in Cave, dance classes can be followed at the School founded in 1991 by Laura Apostoli, while Palazzo Rospigliosi in the village of Zagarolo, where Caravaggio painted "La Maddalena" and "The disciples of Emmaus", hosts the courses of drawing, painting and sculpture.
The "Castellaccio", a private residence reconstructed on the ruins of a medieval castle, awaits you for carpentry and archaeological ceramics courses, where you can also enjoy unparalleled views of the town of Zagarolo.
