2.0 ANCIENT BINDINGS
Are you fond of ancient texts, of those amazing bindings which unfortunately are now missing in today's books? Even today, in the 2.0 era there is someone who takes care of book covers to give them a second life, adapting them to everyday objects. This is ensured by Rilegatoria Doria, established near Rome in 2000 thanks to the work and commitment of Giancarlo Natalizia. His insight was to apply the old covers to modern objects of daily use such as photo albums or calendars. Daily-used objects come out covered with sumptuous robes (Giancarlo's covers), which make them look like ancient holy texts. The processing is entirely manual and it is done using the same techniques used during the Middle Ages and Renaissance. No electrical machinery, only the skilled hand of this professional who has been doing his job for years with commitment and dedication; a dedication found in those who transform a passion into a job. The materials used are natural cowhide and vegetable dyes, in full respect of nature. A process that allows to enhance the diversity of each product by making unique creations.
