With the support of the European Union the euFilmContest competition will kick off, giving away 10 trips to reach the Cannes Film Festival in May 2017. To join the competition, candidates must be at least 18 yearsold and be EU permanent resident, as well as permanent residents of the countries who have formally signed an agreement on participation in the Creative Europe program (Iceland, Norway, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Republic of Serbia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) can join the competition too.
The contest is easy to enter: just answer 25 questions related to the world of cinema, for each question you can choose among multiple answers. Participants will have the opportunity to express, as well, all their knowledge about the world of cinematography.
The 10 participants who reach the highest score will be the winners of the competition and in the event of a tie, the preliminary question will be used to select the winners. The prize is a round-trip ticket to Cannes for a person and accommodation for one night.
The winners will attend the screening of a film selected as part of "The Directors 'Fortnight / Directors' Fortnight". In addition, the Festival will receive a badge with which they can access the film market, giving them the opportunity to learn about the European audiovisual sector and to meet professionals of cinema.
The purpose of the project is to invest in European audiovisual sector through the Europa Creativa MEDIA program and help European talents to work together across borders. Each year the European Union supports about 2000 projects, including films, television series, video games, educational programs, movies and more.
